I am a western man born in the twentieth century but raised and mentored, on a Four-Corners ranch, by a Sephardi grandfather who refused to leave the nineteenth. My muse is the Colorado Plateau. This landscape is a character, setting, or voice in my writing. The plateau has nurtured me and become my guide, solace, and goad. My grandfather and the landscape of the Plateau significantly influence my twenty-first century perspective as I write.
